Welcome to Bedfordshire Humanists.
So, what is a Humanist? Humanists have no belief in any deity – therefore we are atheist or agnostic in outlook. In addition, we rely on evidence to explain the world and universe around us. The evidence shows that as a species we have evolved to act with compassion and empathy and accordingly are well equipped to make solidly founded ethical decisions. In addition, most Humanists are secular in outlook – that is we believe that everyone should be free to decide on their own beliefs (or none), be free to manifest their beliefs (or none) without privilege or discrimination and that the government should never get involved in such matters.
Bedfordshire Humanists strive to represent the views of non-believers generally, and Humanists specifically. To keep updated, sign up for our newsletter to find out what is going on – send us an email from the ‘contact us’ page.
We also run Bedford Skeptics. See our Skeptics page for details.
